Kate Lofton

Kate Lofton has been with Colorado Associates in Medical Physics (CAMP) since 2010. Kate serves as our Vice President of Radiation Oncology Services and works regularly with clients to optimize CAMP’s service line coverage. She specializes in therapeutic medical physics and is certified through the American Board of Radiology. She is one of a few team members who has provided clinical coverage at each of our current cancer centers over the years and she continues to do so as PTO coverage needs arise.

Kate’s training pathway started with an AAPM Summer Fellowship in 2005, where she investigated using EDR-2 film as a dosimeter for matchline doses with Dr. John Ashburn at the University of Kentucky. Inspired to become a clinical medical physicist but already on course for a chemistry major, she picked up a physics minor and completed her Bachelor of Science at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky in 2006. She went on to earn a Masters of Science in Radiological Medical Physics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington in 2008 and completed her training in medical physics with clinical residency at University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center in 2010. She obtained her initial ABR certification in 2011 which she has maintained since.

Kate grew up in the Hoosier State, but is a Kentucky girl at heart and will always bleed blue when it comes to college football and basketball. She now resides with her husband, Brad, and their three children in Colorado Springs where they enjoy exploring the great outdoors, specifically on hiking trails and ski slopes. Kate is an avid reader and also enjoys video editing the various creations that her children come up with in front of the green screen! The Lofton family are active members of Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church where Kate volunteers as a vocalist on Sunday mornings. Kate gives all credit and glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and, though she often falls short, strives to exemplify Colossians 3:17 in the way she completes her work daily: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
