System Lead - Clinical Therapeutic Medical Physicist - Denver, CO

Colorado Associates in Medical Physics, “CAMP”, is seeking a System Lead to help advance patient care and elevate the quality and consistency of therapy physics across a major health system in the Denver metropolitan area.

This position is ideal for a clinically focused, board-certified physicist who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys leading process standardization, and wants to help shape the direction of an expanding regional program. The System Lead serves as the primary liaison between CAMP and the partner health system for all clinical physics matters—promoting excellence, consistency, and alignment with CAMP-wide standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and model CAMP’s mission and core values—Value in Innovation, Strength in Numbers, and Excellence in Service—across all system facilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for radiation oncology physics matters within the health system, ensuring effective communication and alignment between CAMP and clinical partners.
  • Standardize and maintain therapy physics processes in accordance with CAMP’s quality standards and national best practices (AAPM, ASTRO, ACR).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for therapy physics and dosimetry.
  • Lead regular system-level meetings for physics and dosimetry staff to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
  • Coordinate QA, safety, and accreditation efforts, ensuring consistent clinical readiness and compliance across all sites.
  • Provide clinical coverage as an active medical physicist within the system.
  • Support residency training and mentorship for learners assigned to system facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with CAMP and system leadership to support enterprise-wide quality, technology, and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • ABR/ABMP/CCPM certification (or board eligibility with active progress toward certification).
  • Minimum 5 years of combined clinical and/or academic experience in radiation therapy physics.
  • Strong background in calibration, QA, treatment planning, and radiation safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and standardize processes across multiple sites.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.

Experience with Varian TrueBeam, Aria/Eclipse, Bravos HDR, and Elekta Gamma Knife is beneficial but not required; comprehensive training is available for any gaps.

Compensation & Benefits

CAMP offers a highly competitive salary based on training and experience, with reference to AAPM Salary Survey data:

  • Annual Salary: $230,000 – $300,000

Clinical Therapeutic Medical Physicist - Denver, CO

Colorado Associates in Medical Physics, “CAMP,” is currently seeking a clinically focused medical physicist who is passionate about advancing patient care, supporting best practice initiatives, and mentoring the next generation through our newly created residency program. This position join a collaborative team under the direction of our Chief of Therapeutic Medical Physics.

Experience with Varian TrueBeam, Varian Aria/Eclipse, Varian Bravos HDR, and Elekta Gamma Knife is helpful, though comprehensive training will be provided to close any gaps. CAMP equips its physicists with a full suite of medical physics equipment—procured, maintained, and updated by our team—to support accurate and efficient workflows. Patient-specific clinical software, including platforms such as MIM and Radformation, is provided and maintained by our partner hospitals, ensuring our physicists have access to the tools they need to deliver safe, high-quality clinical care.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (Part 2 of ABR Therapeutic Medical Physics exam)
  • Minimum 2 years of strong clinical experience
