Medical Physics Residency Program
About the program
Program Directors:
Renee Butler, MS, DABR (Imaging Physics)
Kyle Woods, MS, DABR (Radiation Oncology Physics)
The CAMP program boasts a large team of board-certified physicists specializing in radiation oncology, diagnostic medical imaging, and nuclear medicine services. Our team brings a wealth of expertise and extensive clinical coverage, providing a broad range of experiences and opportunities to support the ongoing education of medical physicists preparing for board certification.Â
Residency Programs:
- Radiation Oncology Physics Residency Program: Staffed by board-certified Radiation Oncology Physicists and five board-certified Medical Dosimetrists.
- Imaging Physics Residency Program: Staffed by board-certified Imaging Physicists, with three resident faculty members who are dual-boarded in Imaging and Nuclear Medicine. We also have two board-certified Health Physicists and three Administrative Support Staff. (Submitted for CAMPEP Approval)
CAMP provides Radiation Oncology Physics support to five cancer centers in Colorado, one cancer center in Wyoming, and two cancer centers in New Mexico. Additionally, CAMP supports one Veterinary Radiation Oncology center in Colorado.
We also offer Diagnostic Physics and Nuclear Medicine Physics support to various healthcare systems, independent hospitals, and outpatient imaging centers across Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Montana.
admissions
CAMP will accept one resident per year on a competitive basis (currently accepting applications for therapy residents to begin July 2026). Only applicants with a MS or PhD in medical physics from a CAMPEP accredited program will be considered for admission. Applicants who have NOT graduated from a CAMPEP-accredited program with a Masters or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or have not obtained a Certificate from a CAMPEP accredited program will not be considered for admission to the program.
CAMP has opted to paticipate in the MedPhys Match via the National Matching Service. The match will open up to candidates in early October of the year prior to the start of residency (residents will start the 2-year program annually in July). At this time we are only accepting candidates for our therapy residency program.
